My Rant For the Day

Not many things bother me much, but I do have to vent on this one!   Here's what happened:

Little "Suzie" comes to class looking terrible!  Puts her head down on the table.  At morning circle time, I ask her if she'd like to sit on my lap and she does.  Little Suzie falls asleep.  Her head is warm so my aide calls the nurse.  About 10 minutes later, I wake "Suzie" up and she vomits all over the place.  This was such a heart breaking scene!  In the meantime, no one can get in touch with her parents or any of her emergency contacts.

As I'm cleaning up this litlle girl, who is obviously so sick and so upset, I ask her a few questions and she tells me she threw up at 6 am also...and yes, mommy said she had to go to school!  What is that all about!?!?!?!  Don't parents get it?????  A sick child belongs at home, where they can rest, maybe see a doctor???*hint* *hint*  How about all those germs spreading to the rest of us!...total outbreak!

Now, last week I was supposed to get my flu shot (because I work with children).  I have to have some kind of protection because of the constant projectile mucus, cough in my face, and now projectile vomit!   My doctor refused because I was sick...upper respiratory infection.  So now I've been on antibiotics and have to wait on that flu shot.

I've been spraying down the tables, the pencils, the sink area,,,you name it...it's been cloroxed and/or lysoled!

Wonder if I can somehow hose down (fumigate) the little ones as the walk through the door?!?!?!?!

Rant over!

Jury Duty...Argh!

Ok, so I got called for jury duty.  I know it's an obligation...blah, blah, blah.  They called me two years ago and I had to prove that I was a full-time student to get it excused.  There was a long trail of paperwork for that!  Very annoying.

So now, I'm called in again.  I think it'll be kind've cool, as I never did this before.  I know I can take the time from work to fulfill my obligation.  It's just a pain.  I have to be ready to prepare a whole week's worth of lesson plans (very detailed in fact so a sub can follow them).  I hate to be gone that long.

If I am selected, I wonder what kind of case I'd sit in on....hopefully it'll be an interesting one!  Oh, and btw...I CAN'T bring a lappy  =( .

A Few Suggestions Can Hopefully Make a Big Difference!

Hello All!

Finally!  My first blog (and yes, I'm nervous!) lol
For those of you who are expecting to see featured pictures of teh pwnzer, you obviously didn't read my post very carefully!  That'll be included in my SECOND blog - which will be an introduction of ME!  :p

I would however like to make a few suggestions to you gamers out there.  Having received admin on zm1 and 4 (since July and August respectfully), I think that most peeps are not aware of things that they can do to help out the admins.  Following, you will find a list of what you can do and what you shouldn't do while in game.  We can all make a difference if we work together!

1)  Most are not aware that even admins need to take demos of suspected cheats/hackers/abusers before any action can be taken.  So, if you see an admin in game, please do not give him/her away!  This is one of the most frustrating parts of being admin.  If the admin is in spectate mode "doing nothing but just sitting there"...please note that we are recording a demo.  After the demo is taken, we can ban, if we are 110% certain that it is warranted!

2)  Do not start screaming "Hacker! Hacker!"  This will alert the hacker that someone is on to him/her and they will either disconnect or turn the hack off.  In either case, a demo cannot be taken for proof and that hacker will be free to return another day!

3)  If you need to say something to the admin in game, and you do not want to alert the hacker/rule breaker, please use private admin chat.  After typing y type @ (leave a space) and type your message.  Only the admin can see this chat.  No one else!

4)  If an admin asks you to do something, please do it!  If an admin asks you to stop doing something, then stop!  It's very simple...no need to argue.  There are rules in place, to ensure for a better gaming experience for all!  Please follow them.

5)  Please keep an eye on public chat.  A lot of times, an admin may message you something (either privately or for all on server).  This message will appear in green!  Read it!  Follow it!  No excuses!

6)  Please be respectful to the admins and to ALL the players in your server.  Respect goes a long way!  Be positive role models!  Help each other, get to know one another!  This is a great gaming community.  Help it grow and remain pleasurable!  Spawnpoint has a zero tolerance policy on discrimination or abuse based on sex, religion, age, race or orientation!  Any such abuse will be recorded and result in a permanent ban!

7)  This is perhaps one of the most important things that you, as an individual, can do to help keep the servers clean and enjoyable:  If you spot a hacker/abuser and an admin is not around, please take a demo!  It is very easy to do, only takes a few minutes and once reported a hacker/abuser is removed by the ACT (Anti Cheat Team) for good!  That hacker/abuser will have to pay for a new steam id to get back on to Spawnpoint servers.

I may have left out a few things...I will add to these as I go along!

Remember, our goal here is to keep Spawnpoint servers clean and enjoyable!  We want everyone to have a positive gaming experience!

Until my second blog (coming soon)...anticipation...stay well!
